Building your first home in the ACT
Buying your first home in the ACT? You may be eligible for government assistance. The ACT doesn't offer a First Home Owner Grant — instead, support comes through a stamp duty concession for eligible first home buyers. Up to 30 June 2026, eligible buyers pay no stamp duty on homes up to the concession threshold, subject to income limits. From 1 July 2026, the ACT Government is removing stamp duty for all eligible first home buyers, with no property value or income cap.
