Hotondo Homes and Make-A-Wish® Australia

Hotondo Homes’ partnership with Make-A-Wish® Australia began in 2014 and has grown into a major element of the business. Our members are dedicated to helping to raise funds and create a world of possibility for children fighting life-threatening illness.

Over the years our builders have helped make a lasting difference to seriously ill children and their families. Whether it’s been through fundraising, building cubby houses, kennels or even wishing wells, we are incredibly proud of the impact we have had on so many children across Australia.

Make-A-Wish® Australia creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. As one of Australia’s most reputable charities, Make-A-Wish partners with sick kids, their families and medical teams to deliver unforgettable wish experiences – like making unicorns fly, sending kids to the moon and even helping Australia’s youngest cricket captain don the baggy green.

Make-A-Wish believes wishes complement a child’s medical treatment, with the power to calm, distract and inspire at the time they need it most.

Today, Make-A-Wish has more than 700 kids on a Wish Journey which is why they need our support, so that they can get one step closer to making the wish of every eligible Australian child come true.

Granting life-changing wishes for seriously ill children

The team from Central Coast were proud to host a ladies-only Champagne Brunch, with all funds raised supporting Make-A-Wish. The event was held to support kids just like 6-year-old Priya who has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Priya wished to have a party at the beach with all her favourite princesses. The 66 women who attended were entertained by silent auctions, raffles and inspired by guest speaker Adelle Laing.

Local businesses threw their support behind the cause, donating their own services and goods for the special occasion. They raised an incredible $5,469.14 to help grant even more life-changing wishes for seriously ill children. The team are absolutely thrilled with the result and plan on making it an annual event.

MORE donations!

After the success of last year’s Make-A-Wish Golf Day, Adam Sturt from Hotondo Southcoast made the bold pledge to top their fundraising efforts. The team weren’t just able to match it, they went one better by beating it! A fantastic collaboration between local businesses and the team saw a total of $16,500 raised for the charity.

Adam says the remarkable effort would never have been possible without the generous support of the local community. “From a personal point of view, this means more than I can put into words. Being a parent myself, I can’t begin to imagine what these children and their parents are going through. The long and stressful days of running a business seems so small when you think about the situations other people are faced with, raising money is the least we can do,” Adam said.
